I love this movie. It's one of my top five favorite movies of all time. I love Sean Penn as Spicolli. I really want to get the Special Edition DVD.

i need to get the dvd too... i still have it on vcr though but the tapes kinda old so it has this tracking marks on the bottom

The DVD is definitely worth it. There are some cool extras.

I agree, he's definitely has since then. I actually, like the "made for tv scenes," like the guidance counselor one, but I really hated the one where they actually showed the abortion happening. It was kind of gross; I didn't expect for them to show that tv.

It's amazing how relatable this movie still is. Just like the majority of John Hughes movies are. I can look at a lot of the issues in this movie and say the same thing was going on two years ago in my highschool. Cameron Crowe, was a genius in depicting what really on in highschools during that time.

I was suprised about the abortion scene, too. Not all networks air that scene, though. I don't blame them. It's a pretty contentious subject.

Didn't Cameron Crowe pretend to be a high school student as research for this book? If so, that would explain a lot.
