Writer Cameron Crowe says he was told the movie will fail if you make it just about kids because not enough kids will show. So, he said they banded together to make a movie where parents "barely existed."

Well, the movie was great, and I'm glad they didn't put the parents there.

Agreed. It would of added more stuff to it and there was already enough.
