I remember this one fondly too, although I wasn't really obsessed with it. I just grabbed it out of a bargain bin a few weeks ago. Lol.
Explorers was directed by Joe Dante(Gremlins, Gremlins 2, The Howling, Piranha, The Burbs) and starred Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix, and Jason Presson. It was about 3 boys who build a spaceship out of an old amusement park ride and make contact with beings from outer space.
It's a fun, magical kid movie from the 80's, but isn't as good as others. Anybody else see it/like it?.
