| Explorers(1985) - The Adventure Begins In Your Own Backyard "Explorers" is a 1985 film centering around three teenage boys(Ethan Hawke, River Phoenix, Jason Presson) who create a spaceship out of an old amusement park ride. Soon, they begin receiving signals from outer space, and go on an amazing adventure.  The movie was directed by the great Joe Dante(Gremlins, The Burbs, Innerspace, The Howling, Piranha, Gremlins 2).
