Emilio Estevez's directorial debut, WISDOM

I'm sure most of you have never heard of this. It's just an unknown movie released a while ago. Now, I'm just a teenager, but I'm a big fan of Emilio. He has appeared in lots of good movies, most of them having come out in the 80's. He is the ultimate 80's actor. He has had a hit movie for each year in the 8-0's. Well, almost each year. 1983, he had The Outsiders;1985, he had The Breakfast Club and St. Elmo's Fire; 1987, he had Stakeout and in 1988. he had Young Guns. He is a good actor. Now to Wisdom. According to articles and interviews regarding this, the movie cost nearly $ 7 million. It was filmed from Feb 1986 to April 1986. Now, it was released in early 1987. It became a flop. Grossing only $ 5.7 million. It was harshly attacked by critics. Emilio wrote, starred and directed this film. His then girlfriend Demi Moore starred in Wisdom with him. The movie, I found to be good. Now, critics hated it because Emilio and Demi were part of the brat Pack. But, I have to say this movie is good. I hope it is released on dvd.

In my opinion, emilio is a great director. And this movie showed that off. I think that instead of starring in it himself,he should have casted Charlie Sheen or Rob Lowe as John Wisdom. That way the movie would have been a big hit. Since he wrote, directed and starred in the film, I think Emilio was given nearly a million dollars to make the film.
