No, I think they had a black and white Frankenstein scene that opened the show with him and Vinnie.

The Thanksgiving episode had some tension. Doogie's mom's parents come for the holiday and Mr. Howser feels they never accepted him as their son in law. Plus, Janine's parents promised her a car if she broke up with Vinnie.
