What this couple had was real love.. Unfortunately many TV couples have the physical thing and nothing else. This is where Whitley and Dwayne's relationship differ from most TV relationships - their relationship was based on love and sincerity

Yeah, many TV couples start strong but somehow the writing doesn't know where to go after that.

Plus, for some TV couples (even if it was more than physical), the fun and attraction for the audiece was the build up. The "will they or won't they?" thing. Once they get together, it loses steam for a lot of couples.

Absolutely. Once couples get together, it does lose steam but not Whitley and Dwayne - it was more the opposite with them. Ron is the one guy on the show that makes everybody laugh. I liked Kim and Freddie, the moms were hilarious, Jaleesa was OK and so was Lena but Mr Gaines was hilarious

^ Ron and Dwayne’s friendship was probably my second favorite relationship on the show. Also, love Mr Gaines. Grumpy but with a heart of gold. I especially liked how he had Kim’s back.

Also if a will-they-won't-they scenario drags on too long, fans will feel frustrated and move on. The writers of ADW made it work though!

I've watched all of it but I can't remember it at times. The scene is the ending...very sad but they were off to a different world in Tokyo with Dwayne landing a $80,000 per year job with Whitley pregnant
