| Dick Miller - Great 80s Character Actors #1 I thought I would start a few threads paying tribute to some of my favorite working character actors of the 80s. Some of them deserve their due. Starting off with.... You may not know his name(even tho he definitley has a huge fan base who think of him as every bit an icon), but you will most certainly know the face : Dick Miller ![]() Dick has always been a huge favorite of mine, and even tho his career dates back to the 50s, he is one of the most classic 80s character actors. Some of Dick's most recognizable 80s films roles were - The Howling(1981) ![]() Gremlins(1984) ![]() The Terminator(1984) ![]() Explorers(1985) ![]() Night Of The Creeps(1986) ![]() The Burbs(1989) ![]() Among Dick's other 80s works are "All The Right Moves", "Twilight Zone The Movie", "Chopping Mall", "After Hours", "Project X", "Innerspace", "Amazon Women On The Moon", and "Used Cars". TV appearances in the 80s include "Taxi", "Police Squad", "Knots Landing", "Moonlighting", "Freddy's Nightmares", "V", "Amazing Stories", "Fame", "Star Trek - The Next Generation", and "Tales From The Darkside". __________________ Relive Or Discover The Most Magical Decade. | Lol. Yeah, the "who?" is part of the fun. It's like "Oh, him!. So that's his name!." He's appeared in over 135 films, so he should look familiar. Lol. He's a cool guy. 81 now and still popping up. He went on in the 90s and appeared in movies like Gremlins 2, Matinee, Small Soldiers, Demon Knight, and a ton more, as well as TV shows.I have a few more of these "who are they?" character actors. A lot of these people are cool and great, but not get the attention, even though they have their devoted fan base. It's nice to shine the light on some of them. Of course, anybody else who has one is more than welcome. __________________ Relive Or Discover The Most Magical Decade. | It is pretty amazing how this works. I just looked him up and I'm sure I haven't seen 98% of his projects, but I did see "Gremlins 2" and the movie "After Hours" ... apparently that's enough for me to recognize his face too. And he'll appear like once, as an extra practically, like on that Jennifer Love Hewitt spinoff, "Time of Your Life". "Moonlighting" also. It all adds up, I guess. __________________ "It is a theme party at Steve's fraternity." | |||

| It does add up. When you've been around forever and are just a working actor who pops up everywhere and in anything, you become known, even if many don't even know your name. Lol. He's just really cool. One of my favorites and I wanted to give him a little shout out. __________________ Relive Or Discover The Most Magical Decade.
