Anyone watch this? I so loved this show but it was SO long ago since I've seen it. I hope it comes out on dvd!!!

I love this show. It used to come on on Showtime back in 1993 or '94 back-to-back with another great Canadian teen show, "Ready or Not" when I was about 11 or 12. I used to think the show was new b/c I could relate to a lot of the issues. It was real, raw and had unfortgettable characters. There will never be another Joey, Caitlin, Snake, Spike and Wheels. I guess you know that the series is on VHS?

I watched Degrassi High back in the day. Loved it. I have watched it a couple of times on video over the last few years as well.

I saw that on ebay but I'm so hesitant to buy vhs anymore unless I REALLY want it. I'm hoping it will come out on dvd someday!

I know the feeling. The last couple of VHS I have bought of various movies (for various reasons, availbility, price etc. etc.) I have ended up regretting not buying the DVD instead.

I loved this series! I so want it to come out on DVD!

I believe VHS of Degrassi Jr. High and High are available on amazon.com, too.

Degrassi rocks!! It's on Saturday mornings where I live, so I can catch it then. But it's the regular one, not Junior ....

yeah, i'm waiting for DVD too! I really want to see the series. I'm actually a next generation kid, but I really want to see the show that started it all. And I want to see all the adult characters from Degrassi: TNG as teens.

Degrassi was a gem of a show fo' sho'. Mostly for hilarity factor, like how they had the school burn down so that the 8th and 9th graders had to all move to Highschool together... [img]smilies/lol.gif[/img]
But it also brought up a whole phethora of issues too... AIDS, Racism, Sexual Abuse, Violence, Suicide...

Here in Australia it was met with alot of opposition, the timeslot was too early and it was a little mature. I vaguely remember Claude's suicide and my mum rushing in to turn off the television. I think I was a bit young.

But now with glorious reruns, its degrassi goodness 5 nights a week! [img]smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Favourite characters anyone? Without questions mine's Joey... MmMmM... Joey. [img]smilies/drool.gif[/img] or Wheels... his tragic life made him all the more appealing.
