"Dance Til Dawn" was a TV movie that aired on October 23, 1988 on NBC. It starred the likes of many popular young TV actors at the time: Alyssa Milano, Christina Applegate, Matthew Perry, Tempestt Bledsoe, Tracey Gold, and Brian Bloom. Alyssa Milano plays Shelley, who just broke up with her jock boyfriend(Bloom) before the prom. Everyone thinks Shelley will find another guy quick, but she doesn't. She avoids everyone and watches old horror movies in a theater. She meets the school geek(Chris Young, "The Great Outdoors"), who she begins to see is a real nice guy.

Elsewhere, Jock Kevin bets his friends he can take unpopular student Angela(Tracey Gold) to the prom, but her friend Margaret(Tempestt Bledsoe) doesn't trust him or his motivations. Neither does Angela's dad(Grammer), who follows them all night and gets into trouble of his own.

And Christina Applegate plays the obnoxious popular girl, who believes she will be named prom queen. Shelley is her competition. Matthew Perry plays her boyfriend.

The parents in the movie are played by Kelsey Grammer, Alan Thicke, Edie McClurg("The Hogan Family", "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"), Mary Frann("Newhart") and Cliff DeYoung("Cujo", "Secret Admirer").

The entire movie in 4 parts:

Here's some You Tube action!

YouTube - Dance 'Til Dawn (1988) - When I Look At The Stars..

If I hadn't already been in love with Alyssa Milano by 1988, I was after this movie!!!. Lol.

No one?. Lol. I know it's kind of obscure....

I never seen this before but need to check it out. Wow young Matthew Perry.

Very young. All so young!. I figured this would be kind of obscure, but fun!!!.

There is more You Tube stuff that I am going to post as well. Also, there is another TV movie featuring 80's stars that I will be doing soon. :)

This one is available on DVD, but it might be hard to find.

This is one I am going to be tracking down. Have to order this one. Nowhere in stores. After seeing Crash Course recently, I need to get this. I think this one was even better than CC.

This was a fun movie. I was surprised to learn this was just a TV movie and not in theatres. So many known names in one movie!!

Barrybgb 08-18-2010 02:02 PM

Yay! Someone who remembers! Lol. Yeah, a lot of name people, although they were all TV people. I need to get this!.

Anyone? Lol. I am thinking of getting this on Amazon, but it is pricey. $60 new and used!

Barrybgb 07-24-2013 10:16 AM

I'm glad there is someone else who remembers this one! Lol. They should be more well known.

Did you ever find and buy either movie?

Barrybgb 10-05-2013 08:53 AM

I haven't, but the price did go down a bit. Not sure what it is now.

MoparGirl 10-05-2013 11:35 AM

I would love to have both. $60 is a bit much, though. I'll look around online...
