This guy says it will be more supernatural with mannequins becoming possessed by the spirits of slaves since the mall will be buried over their graves or something. I just think it's funny. This director says killer robots are "silly", but possessed killer mannequins are not.

Exactly. I mean, if you are going to change what the movie was, why not just give it a different title? All they are doing is exploiting the name.
