The Charmings(1987-1988) - "The Fairest Family Of Them All!"

This was an ABC sitcom that ran from early 1987 to February of 1988. 21 episodes. A short lived sitcom about Snow White and Prince Charming, who were magically transported to modern day suburbia, and had to learn to live to fit in with modern times. Along with them were their two boys, the wicked stepmother, and her magic mirror. Prince Charming was played by Christopher Rich, who gained fame on "Murphy Brown" and "Reba". One of their sons was played by Brandon Call, from "Step By Step" fame, and the magic mirror was played by veteran actor Paul Winfield.

It was on for only a year. It was on Fridays when it first started. Part of TGIF. Second year was moved and was up against Cosby. Needless to say, it was slaughtered. Lol.

I used to watch TGIF, but it doesn't sound familiar.

It was only a part of TGIF for a few months. 3-4 months or so. Something like that.

Ah, so we know him from "227".

Yeah, like two years ago, I was looking up theme songs, and there it was.

I'm not sure what my coherent thought is supposed to be , but thinking about the magic mirror guy in this show is flashing me back to Pee Wee's mirror/genie guy like something hardcore. Another 80's trend?

Paul was also the narrator for years for the A&E show "City Confidential". He died a few years ago.

Don't know about a "mirror" trend. Was this on Pee Wee's TV show?. I have never seen it.

Somebody just asked about this on Shout's forums. I had already made a thread for it. Anyways, the guy at Shout! said he doesn't see sales for this. He said it has to sell 10-12,000 copies, and he doesn't think 10-12,000 people would even remember the show, much less want to buy it.

This show has heated up a bit on Shout!s forums. One guy said because of the resurgence in Snow White, 2 new movies coming and the new "Once Upon A Time" series, now is time to strike while the iron is hot and release this show. Once again, the guy at Shout! doesn't see an audience and says it's too obscure.

I point to "Rags To Riches" coming out and say "Oh, really?" Lol.

I need to pump up the OT a bit.
