I think it was cool. You didn't see that as the #1 weapon a killer had back then. One may of used one if it were handy but not usually the tool of choice. It was different and it stood out.

I was always against going to camp but these movies certainly didn't help.

It is kind of eerie thinking that there really was a Cropsey. Okay, he wasn't disfigured and didn't use shears at a summer camp, but there was a Cropsey in the same area.

Well, it's all in the OP. Basically, there were urban legends and myths in the area about this boogeyman named Cropsey, who was an escaped mental patient and was the one responsible for all these missing children. Well, it turned out to be a real life man (not named Cropsey) who kidnapped and murdered children in the Staten Island area.
