| The Burbs(1989) - "I'm Not Coming Back Until I Find A Dead Body!" Here is an appreciation thread for another one of my favorite movies from the 80's : The Burbs.  I love, love this movie. Directed by Joe Dante(Gremlins, Explorers, Innerspace, The Howling), It has a great cast :  that includes Tom Hanks, Carrie Fisher, Bruce Dern, and Corey Feldman among a many great others. I love this street!. My favorite street/set/backlot ever. Now known as Wisteria Lane on "Desperate Housewives". The movie is about a group of neighbors on a picturesque suburban cul-de-sac street who think their weird new neighbors are doing something dastardly in their house. One neighbor, Ray(Tom Hanks), is on vacation. But he soon finds himself on the edge as he tries to uncover what's going on next door. | Another great underrated movie in my opinion. Want to watch this one again soon. | I don't know why, but this line just always cracks me up. They all get into the weird neighbor's house. The military neighbor asks one of the weirdos a question and he responded with a real angry "NO". The neighbor guy is like "About a 9 on the tension scale there!". That just always makes me laugh.
