I want to own the DVD too. Unfortunately, I haven't found it in region two in any of the usual places where I buy stuff. I'm tempted to order the region one, but the extra fees for shipping are what has kept me from it so far.

I have a membership with the Columbia House DVD Club. I ordered my copy of Breakfast Club from there. I'm not sure how much I paid. I think I got it on sale for like $10.

That's great!

I'm a member of a Swedish DVD club, and apart from the regular club they have some special subdevisions as well. One, which I'm a part of too, specialises in British Comedy. Through there I've been getting Fawlty Towers fairly cheap. Today I got an offer I hope I'll be able to refuse (I'm very, very tempted to sign up) for another special, Disney movies. Someone give me strength!

Like we've said before, it's so easy shopping online in various places.

I just watched this movie for the first time in what seems like forever. I'd forgotten just how awesome it is.

In my quest to see if there were any decent screencaps online, I came across a site with some trivia about the movie. It's not letting me cut and paste the text, or get a direct link to the page but if you go to fast-rewind.com and select The Breakfast Club from the menu on the left, that'll take you to the page.

Anyway, the bit of info on there that I found most interesting was that there had been talk about making a sequel every 10 years. Of course, it'd only work as long as they got the same actors back and it was made by the same people, but I reckon it woulda been a cool idea.

The end of the movie is really bittersweet. I almost wanted to cry as I watched them all go their separate ways. I wondered if any of them ever spoke again, or if they even acknowledged each other when they passed in the hall on Monday morning.

Though I guess in a way it makes it more special if it was just that one day they had together. And with a movie this awesome, there's always a good chance that a sequel couldn't come close to being as good as the original. But like I said, as long as it was made by the same people, I'd like to see it. I'd like to know what impact that day had on each of their futures. I wanna know if Bender ever stopped wearing Claire's earring (the romantic in me believes he never ever would have taken it out ). I wanna know how they'd all react to seeing each other again 10 years down the track. I'm not gonna be able to sleep tonight now that all this is running around in my head.

ETA that can you believe this dorky lookin' kid...

grew up into this...

I remember when I first saw ads for The Dead Zone, and thought the guy looked kinda cute and sorta familiar. Then when I found out his name I was like, "But wasn't he that dorky kid in the Brat Pack movies? That can't be him!!!" The years have been very kind to Anthony Michael Hall.
