The 80's TV Network!!!

Several months ago, I envisioned an all 80's television station and, just for fun, made my network schedules and all of that. I thought it would be fun to share it with all of you and we could all dream of something cool like that happening.

First of all, some details. Most of the nights on my schedule have "themes". Also, I include some shows that were in the 70's but went well into the 80's, and which people think of them as 80's shows just as much.

MONDAY - "GIRLS GONE WILD NIGHT"
-----------------------------------
8:00 - The Facts Of Life
8:30 - Laverne And Shirley
9:00 - Gimme A Break!
9:30 - Alice

TUESDAY - "FAMILY NIGHT"
----------------------------
8:00 - The Cosby Show
8:30 - Growing Pains
9:00 - Family Ties
9:30 - Who's The Boss?

WEDNESDAY - "ACTION PACKED NIGHT"
---------------------------------------
8:00 - The Greatest American Hero
9:00 - The A Team

THURSDAY - "WORK PLACE COMEDY NIGHT"
----------------------------------------------
8:00 - Cheers
8:30 - Night Court
9:00 - Taxi
9:30 - Newhart

FRIDAY - "A.G.F. ANYTHING GOES FRIDAY"
--------------------------------------------
8:00 - Alf
8:30 - Perfect Strangers
9:00 - Silver Spoons
9:30 - Doogie Howser M.D.

SATURDAY - "80'S MOVIE NIGHT/ORIGINALS"
----------------------------------------------
Saturday is mostly "Movie Night", where it will show movie and Made For TV movies from the 80's. It will also be a night where original shows will air. Biographies on 80's stars, documentaries on 80's TV shows, movies, popular culture, historic events, etc. Also, countdowns(top 10 80's....), concerts, and so on.

SUNDAY - "FUN, FAMILY, FANTASY & ADVENTURE NIGHT"
---------------------------------------------------------
7:00 - The Wonderful World Of Disney(Showing the TV shows, specials, and movies during it's 80's run. This is from 7 to 8, but will expans to 8:30 or 9 on occasion since some the shows were more than an hour).
8:00 - Amazing Stories
8:30 - Superboy
9:00 - Viewer Favorite(fan voted favorite episodes of the past week to show again)

*SIGH* If Only....

I actually thought you had some news when I read the thread title. Haha! I like your idea. Too bad, we can't talk some network official into doing it.

Lol.

It would be great if someone saw this and thought it would be a great idea. Sadly, I think it would be pretty impossible, what with the "rights" to these shows and all. Still, SOME version of an 80's channel would be awesome!.

Of course, I would add more shows as it went along. Maybe even some vintage 80's commercials as well. Lol.

It would be pretty cool though to devote a network to nothing but 80s shows and movies since there is so many good ones out there.

There are some stations that are trying to do it. WGN America has Alf, The Cosby Show, Coach, Newhart, WKRP In Cincinnati. Last summer they had retro weeks and they aired shows like Family Ties. This past October they had another retro week with Too Close For Comfort, The Ropers, Three's A Crowd. It's becoming quite a cool station.

Hey i came across a website that has all the 80's show on it and even some shows from the 70's. I'm not sure if I am allowed to post it on here. Furthermore does anyone know of a fan forum for Growing Pains I've really gotten into the old eppies most of them I never watched. Now I have some questions but I don't have a clue where I can get them answered.

I know Growing Pains has a few websites. I can't think of any on hand, but you can google them. Of course, there are GP fans here, so maybe we can answer your questions?. There is a GP thread.

Nick At Nite still shows 80's?. I haven't really paid attention. Lol.

There is a new station called RTN, Retro Television Network. We had it here, and it had shows like The Incredible Hulk, The A Team, Airwolf, The Cosby Show. At one point, they had 21 Jump Street, Roseanne, and The Greatest American Hero. Now our local affiliate has changed and it's a bunch of infomercial junk.

I'm still dreaming and fantasizing about this. Lol. We need more attention paid on TV to shows that you don't see anymore. This is my TV LAND.
