They are. The only real "decorations" I've seen in the stores in my area are mannequins, but I don't know if they count because they're more for display. Most department stores in my area look the same. I remember walking into a The Wherehouse and Sam Goody and even though they were both record stores they still had some differences that gave them their own look and feel.

Yeah, I rarely go to the mall or stores anymore. It's just not fun.

That is definitely something I am noticing in this day and age. Everything back then had it's own look and was creative. Now, all the department stores and restaurants all seem to be trying to look the same. Modern and neutral.
