Great thread! Disney is so loved. How can we not love a Disney themed thread?

It is/was just pure magic. I can't believe I didn't do this thread a long time ago. I love the other two threads, but there was just other stuff that didn't fit on the other threads.

CloudDancer 02-23-2017 12:36 AM

Thanks for the thread. I have fond Disney memories from the 80's. Used to watch "The Wonderful World of Disney" on the weekends.

Barrybgb 02-23-2017 10:33 AM

I am glad you like the thread. There is a WWOD thread too!

Hard to believe how he transformed an orange grove to Disneyland.

And things were going wrong and not even ready on opening day. All you need is imagination.

Melis 02-23-2017 06:38 PM

It all worked out.

Barrybgb 02-24-2017 09:53 AM

We didn't get the Disney Channel until later but they would have a free week or weekend. Boy, did I make sure to watch and tape everything! I wish I still had those tapes.

Melis 02-24-2017 05:45 PM

I didn't have it either.

CloudDancer 02-24-2017 06:06 PM

We didn't have the Disney Channel either.

Does anyone remember DTv where they would play popular songs while showing clips from Disney cartoons? I don't think it was a regular show, just a few specials here and there.

I do remember that. It began in 1984. They were used as filler at first because the channel didn't air commercials yet at that time. They had some specials that aired on network TV as well. It lasted until 1989.

Aww so cute. I don't think I've seen him at Disney before.

Barrybgb 03-02-2017 10:20 AM

That pic was from 1987 on the day they had the grand opening of Star Tours. For some reason, we never got to that the few times we were there.

Melis 03-03-2017 07:00 PM

I'm shocked about that.

I am too! Oh well.

My dad lost his wallet on the train at Disneyland once. We had to go back and hunt it down. The conductor had it. He was just a kid and he didn't look too pleased to have to give it back.

Melis 03-04-2017 08:22 PM

Aww. I'm glad you got it back. That kid sounded dishonest.

What was everyone's favorite ride at Disneyland/Disney World? It would be tough for me to choose between Pirates of the Caribbean and The Haunted Mansion.

Barrybgb 03-07-2017 09:33 AM

I never saw this one -

Mine was the People Mover. They got rid of it at Disneyland.

I never saw "Devil and Max Devlin" either. The caption mentions Bill Cosby. Is that him in the gif?

Melis 03-07-2017 07:59 PM

I haven't seen that either.

I love the Small World ride.
