GHOSTBUSTERS 3 - In recent interviews, Sigourney Weaver has now said that she will NOT be appearing in the new movie. What happened?. According to Aykroyd, she was on board. Now she is not. This is a bummer.

AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON - Another day, another 80's classic being re-made. Original director John Landis has confirmed that Dimension Pictures is re-making this 1980's horror classic.

FRIGHT NIGHT - I reported a while ago that this one was being re-made as well, and now comes news that it might be in 3-D.

THE GOONIES 2 - This thing has been off and on for years. A month or two ago, there was heavy speculation that a sequel was going to be announced, then Richard Donner said no. Now, original writer, Chris Columbus, says that a sequel is still possible. He does raise some questions on if it would work since "adventures" to kids nowadays are 'online'. He is making a new movie with Joe Pantoliano, and they have talked about Goonies 2. So, I guess the possibility is still in the air. This is the first time I have heard Columbus talk about a sequel. IN OTHER NEWS, there is a big Goonies reunion planned for next year to celebrate the 25th anniversary.

A Nightmare On Elm Street - Here is your first look, kinda, of Jackie Earle Haley as the new Freddy :

Your First Look at the New Freddy Krueger- ShockTillYouDrop.com

It's cool. It's classic Freddy. It looks like a "lost" shot of Robert Englund from several years ago. I guess that can be taken as a good sign!. It's still a tad dark, and the make-up can't be seen, but there is no question - The blades, the hat, and the red/green sweater!.

Hmm. I'm not sure about these, but I haven't seen most of the originals.

The Goonies 2 - A sequel has been on and off for years. Now comes word that a sequel "might" be happening, and Corey Feldman, who has long believed it would never happen, is now saying there's a chance it might happen. Nothing too solid, but it's something!.

Ghostbusters 3 - Sigourney Weaver was at Comic Con talking about her upcoming film "Avatar", and she firmly confirmed what came out a month or so ago - SHE WILL NOT BE IN GHOSTBUSTERS 3. Bummer.

Gremlins 3 - A new Gremlins movie might be in the works. There have been rumblings. Original director(and of part 2), Joe Dante, says he has heard a new film is in the works, but that he will not be a part of it. If anything, it will either be a straight remake or some kind of "re-boot", probably using CGI gremlins, which Dante hates and will not take part of. The original film's writer, director Chris Columbus(who also wrote "The Goonies"), feels the same way. CGI gremlins wouldn't be the same. They should be puppets, and this is a project he doesn't think he would be, or would want to be, a part of.

ST. ELMO'S FIRE - Not getting re-made as movie, but the classic brat-packer film is getting spun off into a TV series on ABC. The movie's director, Joel Schumacher, will serve as executive producer. Topher Grace("That 70's Show") will also be a producer. The characters will be new(3 guys, 3 girls), but it will still have the same location and the St. Elmo's bar.

I am not as attached to St. Elmo's Fire as the other brat packer films, but I like it. I will at least give the show a look just to see.

Dirty Dancing - Let the backlash begin!. I've just read that Lionsgate is prepping a re-make of the 1987 classic. No other details were given, but they apparently already have a writer working on the new script.
