When I first heard the BTTF remake rumor, I almost cried. Why ruin a good thing?

And now a WHo Framed Roger Rabbit Sequel???? seriously?

Yeah, but the Roger Rabbit one isn't a re-make, from what I hear, but just another movie. That's fine with me. We were supposed to have one loooooong time ago, but I posted all the reasons why in my post about it. It would be interesting with today's technology and whatnot.

*UPDATE*

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 - In a new interview, Dan Aykroyd has confirmed that Sigourney Weaver is on board the new film, and he also says that they may be shooting as soon as this winter.

*UPDATE*

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 - Aykroyd says the movie will have 5 "core trainees", and two of them will be female. He stated that his dream choices are Eliza Dushku and Alyssa Milano. Milano voices the female love interest in the new GB game. Also, he wishes Harold Ramis would direct the film, as original director Ivan Reitman is "too busy being a big time producer".

A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET - Connie Britton("Friday Night Lights", "Spin City")has been cast as Nancy's mother, Mrs. Thompson. Also, according to some sources, Robert Englund will not appear in the film, despite his interest in appearing in a cameo. Another slap in the face if you ask me.

I hope so. Dan Aykroyd has been talking about it a lot here lately. Always look forward to anything new he has to say.

*UPDATE*

I come loaded today....

FLETCH 3 - This has been on and off since the 90's. Kevin Smith was on board to write and direct, and everyone from Zach Braff, Joshua Jackson, and Jason Lee were mentioned as a new, younger Fletch. Nothing got off the ground. Now, the Weinstein's have finally gotten some sense in their heads, and have asked CHEVY CHASE to do Fletch 3. Thank God. But wait, there will still be some new blood. Apparently, Fletch will be somewhat retired, but will be helping his journalist nephew with his stories. As long as Chevy is there....

GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN - Not much detail to pass on, but this 80's classic is the latest to get the "remake" treatment. Wouldn't be surprised if the dance show in the movie is changed to an "American Idol" type show.

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 - Dan Aykroyd mentioned in a recent article about equipment in the new film dealing with dimension hopping. GB jumping into different dimensions in part 3?. Also, he mentioned a while back about a character training the new recruits that we will love. Now, he has referred to this character as "her".

DIE HARD - John McClane is going the prequel route. But wait, it's just a comic cook. *whew*

GHOSTBUSTERS 3 - A representative from Columbia Pictures says the script is "fabulous". They also went on to say "As a fan of the original film, this is something I would want to see. It's much better than the last sequel."

Clint from Moviehole. Movie & Entertainment News writes about 2009 being a lackluster year for movies, with a few exceptions. He says he wishes it was 1984 again. GB3 is at the top of his list for movies in 2010(if it comes out in 2010). He said something very true about this that I liked. He said something along the lines of how in today's movie world, it's out with the old, in with the new. Or remakes. And that a GB3 coming, that is a sequel with the original cast, is something rare and special.

i completely agree with that. its like every movie that comes out these days is just a remake of something fantastic. it will be so nice to have a real sequel with all the cast back!

I wanted to post what he said because I think most would agree. People who lived thru the movies that are being re-made want a sequel, not a re-make, or re-imagining, or whatever, with new, young people, just for the fact that they are younger.

Teen Wolf -Another 80's classic is getting the re-make treatment. This is just breaking and there is no other news to report other than this 1985 film is getting re-made.

Indiana Jones 5 -Shia LaBeauf recently said that Spielberg has "cracked the story" for Indy 5. Today, producer Frank Marshall says he doesn't know of this "cracked story", but does say that the script is progressing and in research mode. He also says that "we have to do this one fast". Now, a lot of people were disappointed with KOTCS, and it had it's flaws, but it was still thrilling, fun, and nostalgic to see. If everyone is on board and wants to do another, I welcome it whole heartedly. Maybe they learned from some of the problems with the last one and let Spielberg decide the final script instead of George Lucas!.

Ghostbusters 3 - Okay, not a lot of movement, but just talk of all the same stuff. Columbia Pictures has approved the story, and they are still waiting on the script to be turned in. Until then, nobody can really say or do much of anything. Ivan Reitman says he hasn't ruled out directing, but Aykroyd doesn't think he wants to do it. It will probably either be Reitman or Harold Ramis directing.
