I actually taught myself to read when I was three and I had loads of children's books and some Little Golden Books but my favorite books were the Little Critter Series by Mercer Mayer and I had almost every single book in the series and I still have them today. My school also had Scholastic Book Clubs and it was such a joy to get books and I would get books every so often from Scholastic Book Clubs. I used to love listening to books on tape too and my mother used to read me bedtime stories when I was little too and it was so enchanting to hear my mother read to me to put me to sleep. And my favorite books were fairy tales and every so often my parents would take me to the library to get me some library books to read to me. Now although I now read material for older kids I still collect picture books for collector's items

Oh yeah, I loved Scholastic. It was fun when my teacher passed out the little paper, and I took it home to my parents. I always begged them to let me order stuff.

That was one of my favorite times in school. Getting that little catalog of books. Well, it was 2 pages and the paper was real thin I remember. I loved scanning through it to see what my next book was.

I usually just got one. One was usually all I ever found.

I loved the "Fudge" books by Judy Blume. It started in 1972 with "Tales Of A Fourth Grade Nothing", but I never read it until school in the 80's. Then there was the sequel, "SuperFudge", in 1980. Again, I didn't read it until the late 80's. Two more were released in the series.

I love those books. I'm sad that kids don't like them now.

Did you like How to Eat Fried Worms?
