Russell Crowe is on the cover. I think they are insane for not mentioning him.
Also Chris Rock made fun of him at the Oscars last night!!! WTF? I am really mad about that cuz he was basically calling him a bad actor.

I think I might be the only one who doesn't find Chris Rock remotely funny. Or he must be a big Russell Crowe fan than, someone whom I think is very overrated.

Amen. I have never been able to stand Chris Rock.
Russell is okay, but I didn't understand why he and our Col would even be compared.

Chris Rock had zero tact. The people nominated for the Oscars already have a certain degree of survivors' guilt, & tend to want to play up their modesty. Chris made the entire Academy look like they approve of kicking everyone else when they're down. It was nasty, & cheap, & lame. I used to like Chris Rock-- I thought Head of State was very cool, but it was wrong & a half for Chris to represent the entire Academy with his own political views. As much as I hate Bush, I think it was the wrong time & the wrong place for his comments about the troops being like Gap invading the Bananna Republic, & I think the crass comic way he tossed out those jokes undermined the real value of what he was trying to say, which was important. Bashing Jude Law & Colin to boot was STUPID & wrecked the rest of his satire. The jokes weren't funny, so if nothing else I bet you everyone in the theter kind of felt bad for Colin & for Jude, & glad they weren't victims of the new Joan Rivers, & Chris Rock looked like the kind of pipsqueak that can only bad mouth guys who aren't right there in front of him to put him in check. Totally low blow, & very cowardly. I laughed at his "man-on-the-street" interviews of folks at the theater who liked "Saw" & White-Chicks" but who hadn't seen the Oscar nominees--- but I understand the offended critics who say that made the average American look stupid.

I want Sean Penn on my team. Go Sean!

And now..... for something entirely different. Soccer!!

Film star and one-time footballer Colin Farrell

Quote:
Coulda been a contender
Irish actor Colin Farrell, who played the leading role in controversial historical blockbuster Alexander, could well have become a decent footballer if only he had the commitment. The son of Eamonn Farrell, an Irish Cup winner with Shamrock Rovers FC, showed promise as a player for Dublin side Castleknock Celtic FC before choosing to become a Hollywood megastar. Club secretary Tony Jordan said of the young Farrell: "He was very versatile and could play anywhere." However, as he grew older, Farrell's commitment to football waned. "It was probably difficult to get out of bed on a Sunday morning to get him to the football matches," added Jordan. "I think he had all the skills, but there's one thing you need to make it work, which is to have the heart and the commitment." Farrell has played down his footballing skills in interviews, saying: "I was never that good - I had delusions of grandeur." However, as he rolls around in the millions of dollars he has earned from his big movie roles, we at uefa.com would like to think that he still sheds a tear as he thinks how much better life could have been as a semi-pro player in the Irish league.
Slightly different version:

Alexander: D-Day for Farrell?

Quote:
COLIN FARRELL
The Irish actor is currently earning mixed reviews as the lead in the film story of Alexander, the warrior king of Macedonia.

Back in the late 1980s and early 1990s, he was a promising young utility player for Dublin side Castleknock Celtic, even spending stints in goal

Alexander: D-day for Farrell?
Colin's father Eamonn, an Irish Cup winner with Shamrock Rovers, managed the team.

"I was never that good - I had delusions of grandeur," Farrell says of his time with the club between the age of about 12 to 16.

But club secretary Tony Jordan indicated he could have become a very decent player - if only he had the commitment to training.

"He was very versatile and could play anywhere," recalled Jordan.

"He was mischievous in his own way. Towards the later days with Castleknock Celtic, he was probably difficult to get out of bed on a Sunday morning to get him to the football matches.

"I think he had all the skills, but there's one thing you need to make it work, which is to have the heart and the commitment. I reckon young Colin could have done well."

I couldn't possibly agree more... It was rude and lame. And I did notice as well that he was only cracking jokes on people who weren't there.
As for the "man-on-the-street" interviews, I actually hated them. The idea was a good one, but did you notice he went to a basketball stadium to do it? It wasn't even the general public; In fact, not to throw racism into the mix, but did you notice that every single person was black? I can't believe he even agreed to do that, because although these people gave their permission to be on tv, I hope they realized a lot of people worldwide were laughing at them. I have always hated jokes at the expense of others though. Just ranting, sorry.

Update of Colin's court case. ( courtesy of the CFF)

Quote:
FARRELL SERVED AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS

~ from ContactMusic.com

COLIN FARRELL is heading to court after finally being served by the attorney for a woman accusing the actor of harassment and stalking at traffic lights in Hollywood.

DESSARAE BRADFORD is demanding $5,000 (GBP2,632) from the Irishman for "harassment, stalking, mental anguish, stress, and cell phone minutes" after claiming the S.W.A.T star once pestered her.

Earlier this month (FEB05), Bradford was given a month to properly serve the actor or risk having to give up her case against him after she appeared in court in Santa Monica, California, without having properly served Farrell.

Bradford's attorney, MICHAEL HENDERSON, claims to have served Farrell on Friday (25FEB05) after following him from the set of a movie he's currently shooting.

Henderson states he handed Farrell notice of the action against him through his open window when his car stopped at traffic lights.

In her suit, Bradford is also demanding the return of artwork and an erotic tape.

Farrell's representatives insist the Irishman has never even met his accuser. The small claims matter will be settled in court on 17 March (05).
This woman seems like a flake!

If she's lying she must be a really good actress and liar, cuz who would have thought of throwing in there that thing about the artwork and tape.
I think it might have been someone he messed around with (probably a long time ago) coming out of the woodworks now, but he is definitely not stalking her. She's probably just obsessed with him and can't deal with the fact that she doesn't have a chance for anything real, you know?
What do you all think?

That woman is selling her own panties on her website "dirty or clean." She's mentioned that she brought this case & the one against Baldwin purely to get attention for her book-- to exploit famous people. It's a really silly case-- & I don't see it causing much in the way of permanent grief for Col. At first, half of me suspected it was some kind of publicity ploy from Colin's own agents to keep his name in the news. It's just an innocuous laughable accusation.

Somehow the thought of Colin calling phone sex chat lines when he's drunk amuzes the hell out of me. I wouldn't mind hearing a ballsy sauced-up Colin guide me through an orgasm over the phone. The thought that he might do that tickles my moist & fuzzy spots. Once in a while I've heard a delightful soulful & deeply manly Irish voice on the other end of the chat lines here in California, & I had a blast pretending it was him, even though it was more than obvious it couldn't have been. That moronic woman running to the courts with this impossible story of hers is a kunt munch for flapping her lips-- especially assuming its all lies not orchestrated by Colin's own people for cheesy publicity.

The thing I hate most about this case is it may encourage more of the same cark from other fame hounds. Yeeeuck. We can all laugh at that woman for being so screwed up, but I truly truly hope the judges do something punitive against her as an example to keep others from bringing ridiculously frivolous & false claims. I'd love to see her get charged for Colin's time & lost wages, for his lawyer's time, for court costs, punitive damges, etc. etc. etc. I'd love to see her get charged for the crime of bringing false allegations.. (assuming they ARE false-- which they seem to be).

Well, you must realize that he specifically went to the Magic Johnson Theater in South Central Los Angeles to do those interviews because it is a predominantly black-populated area, so what better place to get black American moviegoers' opinions in southern California.

Colin to contribute to "Voices and Poetry of Ireland" (thanks to Colin Love) [01 Mar 2005|10:59am]

Voices and Poetry of Ireland
Bono and Paul McGuinness have contributed to Voices and Poetry of Ireland, a 3 CD and book anthology of Irish poetry that will benefit Focus Ireland, an organization that aims to combat homelessness and advance the rights of homeless people.

The list of contributors to Voices and Poetry of Ireland, which is supported by Poetry Ireland, reads like a Who’s Who of Ireland. The book that accompanies the CDs contains the text of the poems, as well as photos and biographical information of the readers. Priced at Euro 40, the CD and book set will be available from Harper Collins in two weeks.

List of all the contributors
