So what can I say? I love this woman!
She is such a good actress, funny and talented!
I love Judging Amy, I'm never tired to re-watch episode on tv, but I'm also so angry that it's not on dvds yet! It's really a shame!
I also love her in "The Jane Austin book club" and "Downloading Nancy" where she was a shrink too, but that movie was dark and intense, let just say that Violet is way more fun and easy to watch! :)
I admit that if it wasn't for her I'll never start to watch PrP because medical drama are not the genre that usually hook me up! But now I'm such a fan! Amy's magic ....
Can I be added to the list please?

smeagolkitten 03-07-2010 07:05 AM

Vicky! *hugs*

For me it was in Private Practice that I noticed her, since I had not really paid attention to Judging Amy when it was on TV here, but I must have caught a scene or two, or maybe just some of the commercials, cause I definitely connected the name to the face instantly when I watched the backdoor pilot for PrP. As a Grey's fan and huge Addison fan I naturally followed Kate into PrP, but it ended up being Amy and Violet that really blew me away.

And I've now begun to go back in time to see as much of Amy's earlier work as I can. I've seen her whole arc on NYPD Blue, and I'm currently watching season 3 of Judging Amy, got several of her movies coming in the mail, soon. So far I've only seen "Casper" (first scene, second scene) and "Bye, Bye Love", where btw, I find it extremely amusing that Amy's character Susan ended up with Claire's ex (Claire was portrayed by Jayne Brook, who played Meg on PrP).

Oh, I remember Bye, Bye Love. It was a funny, light movie.

You should definitely see Heat (Heat (1995)). Great movie with fantastic cast (you can't get better than Rober DeNiro and Al Pacino together). Amy didn't have a big role, but it was an interesting role and she was great (as always).

Well if we're talking about "amusing" what about Violet/Pete where Pete (Tim Daly) is no one else if not Judging Amy lovely mother (Tyne Daly)'s brother? Isn't that amusing???
That was something always intrigues me...because what I loved the most in JudgAmy was the relationship between the three generation of women of the same family living under the same roof and I loved every scene between Amy/her mother and Amy/her daughter. So it was kind of strange when I discovered that Tim Daly was Tyne Daly's brother (I know I'm a little slow, but I didn't realize that till half S2!) and I was already a Vip shipper! :D In some twisted way I must like Amy Brenneman with members of the Daly family! :D
Mr Daly and Mrs Brenneman knew each other before PrP, because he was in S4 ep 24 of Judging Amy and that's could be why they have soooo much chemestry from the beginning! :P

Thanks LullabyMe I'll try to watch Heat too! Right now I still have to watch NYPD Blue that smeagolkitten recommended to me weeks ago!

smeagolkitten 03-07-2010 08:13 AM

I have Heat coming in the mail, along with many other movies... I kinda went ballistic on Play.com with ordering Amy movies... lol. And yeah, Vicky, you should start with NYPD Blue, Amy was fantastic in it.

I agree that it is amusing that she goes from playing the daughter of one sibling, to play the love interest of the other, but what I thought was funny was how "history" repeated itself in PrP.

And seriously? Tim was in Judging Amy? And it's one of the episode I don't have? Damn... I would love to have seen that... This show NEEDS to be released on DVD already!!!

Imzadi 03-07-2010 08:37 AM

welcome to the thread. I will add you right away. I am Suz btw

V_Elspeth 03-07-2010 10:16 AM

Yeah, but if I remember correctly they fight all the episode and he was kind of crazy! :P

tftnt..

a pity Violet wasn't in the last episode :(

evil_hypnotoad 03-08-2010 09:05 AM

I think Violet has very good friendship with Dell, i've noticed it in 3x14 when they have a lot of scenes together, it seems more mature than her friendship with Cooper to me. I would like to see more of that.

jansen_marie 03-08-2010 10:00 AM

I respect Violet a lot for how she handled the Lucas situation. I couldn't imagine having no feelings for my child. I think that is probably so frustrating and heartbreaking took look at your child and just feeling...nothing.

I knew a girl who had severe PPD. I felt so bad for her and her husband because all throughout the pregnancy they were so excited. Her more than him at time, and then that happened. She is better now, but it was so depressing to watch it and see both of their struggles.

Violet's horrific attack just left her empty, but at least she is beginning to deal with it. I can't wait till the day she finally holds and kisses her son.

Oh, and Amy amuses me. Her tweets crack me up. You can tell her and Tim are really close. But that isn't surprising considering how long she has known the Daly Family.

Addison Montgomery 03-12-2010 06:18 PM

Thanks for the new thread, Suz! :) I absolutely love the title.

I miss Violet, i hope she'll come back in the next episode. :(

Yes. She wanted to have a family with Pete and she did want the baby. The attack just left her so empty, broken and devasted. Violet needed time to feel better again and she has been making progresses. I can't wait to see her again.
