Well first off, we need to contact Pam etc from the first few rewatches and ask why they stopped. And secondly, give everyone a chance to determine the episode...

REALLY love these posters they did for An Adventure in Space and Time. Also, I'm really impressed with the casting they did for this.

They got the likeness in looks and acting absolutely spot on, especially the first TARDIS scene.

a lovely quote

William Hartnell doing his close to the face hand gestures. Apparently Hartnell gave
his fellow actors the same lecture about gesturing close to the face on ‘as live’
television as you never knew when you were going to get a close up.

Hartnell is sometimes criticised for forgetting lines and such but his performance
and presence as the Doctor is just so strong. Watch him in scenes, in the background,
watch his eyes dart back and forth, the curiosity, the wonder. Watch his hands
tremble slightly, and watch as he interrupts with the best precision, and watch how
he commands the scenes without saying much at all. When people say that Hartnell
is just the actor who forgets his lines we get so sad because acting is so much
more than the lines, and when he couldn’t remember, he made up for it with
his mannerisms and his physicality and authority.

It didn’t matter that his sentences came out wrong sometimes, he was boss
and you’d listen to him. You still believed in him.

I've been watching more Hartnell stories of late, and I have had an increasing admiration for his Doctor. I absolutely loved watching Reign of Terror and The Romans, and both are among my favourite Hartnell stories now alongside The Chase and Time Meddler...

Oh, I just love The Chase and The Time Meddler, but must admit I haven't seen many of the pure historicals as they tend to bore me. I prefer more futuristic settings in my Dr Who. I think the last Hartnell I watched actually was An Unearthly Child: Episode 1. It stands the test of time as a pilot episode (yes, I know there was another actual "pilot" that never aired) but I just cannot tolerate the remaining three episodes set in the Caveman days. i usually skip straight to The Dead Planet (The Daleks' first episode) and go from there.

The Romans is just hysterical. It is truly very very funny. So I would recommend it, as you would find it very funny. Reign of Terror is just a really good story that has all the vital elements of a Doctor Who story. But I do agree with the last three episodes of An Unearthly Child. I normally still watch them but I don't enjoy them and normally do other things while those last 3 episodes were on.
