her exit was better

Yeah at least it wasn't as devastating as Donna's or the Ponds' exit.

I think Clara got a pretty good exit. She has a TARDIS and can travel all through space and time for as long as she wants before she has to return to her time and place of death.

^ You're right. I think Moffat probably decided on not making a companion exit devastating anymore because since Rose (though I think she got her happy ending in S4), all companion exits (except Matha's) have been really sad.

I was really surprised that the Doctor could't find a way to save her. It was like they were preparing us for Bill's exit.

Yeah, Clara dying was so sad. I literally was like "Not this again." when she died. Oh and I wasn't spoiled about Clara's exit so I didn't like what happened.

Yes. Her death seemed to really represent the shift that Moffet did with twelve. The previous Doctors were always able to save their companions from death. It was like he was trying to make a point that the Doctor could not alway save his companions. Twelve had two companions and they both technically died. Previous regenerations always found a way to let them continue living. They may not be able to ever see the Doctor again, sent to an alternate dimension or the past, but they were at least alive. Yes in a way both Clara and Bill are technically alive but not in the traditional sense.

I do like that they steered away from the usual norm of the Doctor always saving the companions. It makes it unpredictable. Not that I want companions dying but it's more 'realistic' if the Doctor doesn't always win. Clara & Bill's exit were definitely not in the traditional sense but I can accept knowing that they are somehow okay.

see that is one reason why i felt this doctor was so different , when it came to death he didnt seem to care there were lot of episodes when a person would die and he didnt do anything , previous doctors would of got angry yelled and fought peters one didnt do that he said there was a reason he told bill i dont remember what he said but i stood out for me cause it was so unlike the doctor or the previous ones , 12th doctor did care but he couldnt save everyone or didnt want to , it was so unlike the doctor

You guys are right. It just made the show darker for me I guess. I always liked that Doctor Who was not as dark as other sci-fi borderline horror type shows. But it didn't make me want to stop watching the show. It just made me sad that the Doctor was no longer allowed to always win

I get what you mean. During 12's run, the show got really dark, especially the latest season. So I kind of feel that Bill's exit was suitable in that sense. But yeah, Bill's was really a punch in your face kind of moment for me. Before that happened, the Doctor should've already tried to save her.
