Capaldi was one of the best.
I was excited when he started and was very happy when he came into his own during his second series. Heaven Sent and Hell Bent were two of my favorite episodes of either Classic or New Who. I thought he was just getting his feet under him when he said he was leaving.

i think it was the 6th doctor some behind the scenes issue he was only the doctor for like 2 seasons

Yes Peter really started to shine in season 10 and it's such a shame that he is leaving all ready. He has been such an amazing Doctor.

I agree completely, it doesn't feel like he's been the Doctor for three years.

Colin Baker, who played the Sixth Doctor, was fired, as they blamed him for all of the problems.

No, he wasn't. I think the problems were everything but Colin Baker. He wasn't even able to wear the costume he wanted to.

I believe it was a simple black outfit, rather than the colourful monstrosity that he ended up with.

^ Yeah. They actually fired him, and unsurprisingly, when they asked him to come for the regeneration scene he said no and they had to get Sylvester McCoy to dress up as the Sixth Doctor and wear a bad wig to regenerate into himself.

Which is why I loved hearing that they asked Peter to do another series, especially because they're a few people saying he was so unpopular the BBC were going to fire. And, for some reason that's not been mentioned since.

oh i thought so poor guy but towards the end BBC was less into DW i mean it was soon after it got cancelled ..

Wait they said that about out peter???

i dont think so he still does all the conventions for DW meets the newer cast did that funny doctor who mockamentary five-ish doctors
