David will be back on stage.

The Doctor Who star will top the bill in a new West End stage version of Don Juan in Soho, a contemporary take on an older comedy by 17th-century writer Molière that was updated by Patrick Marber in 2006.

The play (which starred Rhys Ifans) never made a West End transfer despite positive reviews for its original run, so Tennant’s version of the character is bound to make a splash when it arrives in Wyndham’s theatre next Spring.

And it’s also a bit of a homecoming for the actor, having not appeared in a West End production since acting alongside Doctor Who co-star Catherine Tate in 2011’s Much Ado About Nothing, so overall we’re betting this will see eager Tennant fans scramble for tickets like nobody’s business. After all, who doesn’t love a lover?
