It's always fun picking a username for something, although having said that I normally use the same one for everything. But sometimes it's easy to see how someone picked their name... like "d_tennantfan" wouldn't be hard to work out for instance. I don't very often get anyone knowing what my usernames mean because they're to do with obscure bands that no one knows about

Not that’d I’d ever grown tired of DT or anything but I’ve always liked keeping my username more generic in case of somewhat waning interest...people who pick shows and stuff to integrate into their usernames I always wonder if someday they'll be like "I can't believe I did that"

exactly, you can never tell whether you'll lose interest in something so it's best to pick something fairly 'generic' like you say

I think back to all the yahoo IDs I went through when I first got the internet, and they were all related to a different fandom or band or whatever because I was so fickle. I still use one now which is a lyric from a very old song and I've never stopped liking it. It's just very very random

yeah, I wouldn't pick a username that was show related either. Well, my username on LJ was inspired by Doctor Who but you wouldn't know that unless you're obsessed.

My username here was inspired by a Silverchair song, and they've been my absolute favourite band for about 9 years now, so I doubt that will change anytime soon! I wish it didn't have the x in it though, that reminds me a bit too much of my teenage self

That's happened to me with my name when I first joined I was so obsessed with Harry Potter, and it was like my only fandom, and now I'm not so obsessed and I have more fandoms, so it no longer suits me.

I've just been doing some German revision (yes, at 10:30 at night, I study best at night for some reason) and I'm hating my school for making me do that and french, all these languages are making my brain implode.

My LJ username and my username here and my username on FF.net are all part of alias I use I generally use it always... My Myspace is a combo of alias and real name... and my FB is obviously my real name

I dont think i've ever chosen anything really connected to Fandom before.

My MSN/hotmail... I created when I was 14.. so sometimes I cringe.. but I've had it... obviously since I was 14 so I dont think I'm going to change it any time soon.

My LJ name is the one I use absolutely everywhere these days. It's based half on one of my favourite bands, like Val I've liked them for about 8 years so that's not changing methinks

My first ever username on anything was indie_spice because that's what my friends called me at school. Massively embarrassing now tho I still use my old hotmail account though. I've had that for over 10 years and it's one of my favourite foods
