TARDIS Appreciation #2 : because she is the doctors first love

TARDIS

Time and Relative Dimension in Space
2nd appreciation thread

(source)

A product of Time Lord technology, a properly maintained and
piloted TARDIS can transport its occupants to any point in time and space.
The interior of a TARDIS is much larger than its exterior, which can
blend in with its surroundings through the ship's chameleon circuit.

A TARDIS usually travels by dematerialising in one spot,
traversing the time vortex, and then
rematerialising at its destination, without physically travelling
through the intervening space.

Apart from the ability to travel in space and time (and, on occasion,
to other dimensions), the most remarkable characteristic
of a TARDIS is that its interior is much larger than it appears
from the outside. The explanation is that a TARDIS is "dimensionally
transcendental", meaning that its exterior and interior exist in separate dimensions

You should see the TVM with Sylvester McCoy (and later Paul McGann) where it has a whole enourmous library just off of the console room, and the Doctor is sitting in an old armchair reading while playing a record. It really set the tone.

i think this is neat

Peter Capaldi has shared his thoughts on
a potential new TARDIS for the Twelfth Doctor.

Speaking at An Afternoon with Mark Gatiss and Friends, he said: “I have to say,
the BBC are very responsible with license payer’s money. So they feel if they’ve
spent a certain amount of money on a certain amount of props, then they won’t
get rid of those props until they’ve been used. This applies equally
to the TARDIS. It’s essentially Matt’s.”

On design preferences: “Roundels. I like the old Sixties roundels. That was the
coolest look and I think it’s also appropriate for the way this Doctor dresses.
“It’s got a sort of Edwardian look about it – not the actual console – it’s the bits
and pieces lying around. Cricket bats, maps and odds and ends and things. There’s
a Jules Verne quality to it – I would like to make it more Bauhaus.”

Late reply here, but I generally agree with Peter and hope he gets the Tardis interior he wants. More roundels, BBC!!
Question- Has anyone here seen the story Invasion of Time? It offered us many rooms to consider in the final part when the Fourth Doctor (Tom Baker) is on the run from the Sontarans.
Logopolis and Castrovalva also showed us more rooms than the console room. Has anyone here seen either story, and if so, what did you think of the deep Tardis interior?
