A warning about The Twin Dilemma: Six is very volatile during the story, and if you don't go into the story with a willingness to just let said volatileness 'flow', you might not like the character.

Six is just the perfect example of how unpredictable regeneration can be for the Doctor.

I honestly liked him in his first story. He was much more alien than Five was.

Is regeneration crankyness/confusion already a thing with the classic doctors?

I haven't seen any first ep of newly regenerated one yet. Though I felt very sorry for young Amy trying to find food Eleven would eat.

New bodies take getting used to. Especially for the Doctor whose previous incarnation is usually on the verge of death just before regenerating.

They haven’t all been cranky or mean.

Six has the most extreme case of 'regen sickness' of any of the Doctor's incarnations because Five died under extreme circumstances and in the midst of extreme trauma... and I personally found the choice to go in that direction supremely interesting and intriguing.
