It seems pretty darn likely there will be another series, I'm not sure about ratings but I expect it did well for a kids show!

So, I managed to keep spoiler free, and watch BBC1 pace, if I didn't do as much studying as I did last week, I would wonder how I managed it.

Spoiler:

Anyway, I've loved this series and every episode, it's a very fun show, and I hope there's an S2.

good news for Canadian fans:

Quote:
Canadian digital cable channel BBC Kids has announced that The Sarah Jane Adventures will be coming to the channel in January 2008. The run starts with the premiere of the hour-long pilot "Invasion Of The Bane" on Sunday, January 13th at 9:00pm EST (repeated at 4:00am EST). Thereafter BBC Kids will run two episodes back-to-back every Sunday at 9:00pm EST with repeats at 4:00am EST.
they're lucky they're getting the episodes back-to-back! No evil cliffhangers that way

That's pretty cool actually, I subscribe to BBC Kids (the best source around here for Classic Who, plus other BBC sitcoms). Maybe this means I'll finally get around to watching SJA in the new year.

Definitely watch it if you get the chance! some of the awesome DW (both classic and new) references already make it worth watching, but I thought it was an extremely enjoyable show apart from that, too

That is indeed good news for Canadian fans, I'm not sure how many of them will watch a repeat at 4 in the morning though!

Has anyone heard anything about a second series in Blighty? I'd say it was likely apart from the fact that they keeping cutting back the budgets for kids TV shows! Just have to hope I guess!

To reply to my own question, and inform anyone else, according to DigitalSpy (who are quite reliable!) they're writing the second series but it hasn't been confirmed for sure! I'm sure they will though!

At last some news!

Quote:
“Yes, we’re doing 24 episodes," she confirms. "I think we start end of March.“
Source (There's Doctor Who Series 4 spoilers in that link just to warn everyone)

24?! I know that the episodes are only half an hour, but I'm suprised, hopefully it's not a typo though.

To be honest I don't really know the normal runs for kids shows though.

But even so, 24 compared to 10 is a bit of a leap, definately not complaining though.

I hope all the kids are back, they were actually pretty good actors, and weren't annoying.

I think the BBC know they have a winner with SJA it get's great ratings for kids tv, which the kids tv audience rapidly decreasing, so I'm not really suprised now I think about it.

I hope K9 appears again! and I can't wait to see what the aliens are.

Oh, and Maria's dad better be in it.

Definitely, and I love that while it is a kid's show at heart, so many adults still love it, too it really appeals to a very wide audience, which is brilliant for the ratings of course!

I really hope we get to see K9 again too! I loved it every time he showed up in the first series and even though he turned out to be evil at the end, I'm glad we're still going to have Mr. Smith. I would miss the 'Mr. Smith, I need you!" *cue heroic music* a LOT if they wouldn't have that anymore, it made me giggle every time

Oh yes he'd better be!!

I do wish we could get full 40 minute episodes instead of the half 20 minute episodes though.
