It's always amazing to see where a character starts out, and see them change of the course of knowing the Doctor.

I love how a companion can find their courage while running around the universe with the Doctor. All the trouble they get into, the scary monsters, the dangerous aliens, all of it testing the companion, and the come out of it better and stronger with a greater sense of self and they know what they're capable of.
