^ You're more inclined to watch more British TV so you can easily understand it. We get more U.S. shows here, even when I was a kid, so when we speak English here, we sound "American".

I remember when I started to watch more British TV, I can't understand some of the accents (especially Brummie) and then there are the Scottish & Irish accents too.

Have yo ever seen Peaky Blinders ? Its got some really strong Birmingham accents in there and I've often wondered how the rest of the world would cope understanding it .

I watch Peaky Blinders on Netflix so it has subs. Locals would understand it but geez, us foreigners, no way!

Its not only Peaky Blinders , there's a drama called "Vera" which is set in Newcastle and the lead actress has a really strong Geordie accent , and sometimes you really struggle to understand what she is saying . In Yorkshire where I live , we have a soap called Emmerdale and no doubt the rest of the UK will struggle to understand what some of the characters are saying .
