Yeah I think they're also used to shorter season, fewer eps. And want to try and do more TV and different roles than being tied to a show for very long.

It sounds much more appealing to be honest. They lock US actors into long contracts from the get go sometimes. Like 7 years if the network so chooses.
I think if I was used to the UK system as an actor then I wouldn't want to do many US shows. It actually makes a lot of sense to me now. I used to wonder why UK actors always left shows I liked them in after a few seasons and now I kind of know why. It also means they can work less and spend more time with their families, friends, ect while still meeting the demands of their contract. |

Exactly. And I also just found out a few days ago that another actor from Legends of Tomorrow also left the show. He's British.

yeah they are dropping like flies on that show
I think it's a much better system. I would prefer to be a UK actor over an American actor. I do wish we could have gotten more of Eleven and Clara before Matt had to leave. |

it is better for the actors but in this industry it isnt reliable to have a steady income with a uk job wise doesn't sound right to me but than again the us version if they dislike thier bosses they can't do anything until their contracts expires it has happen alot to actors more girls/cultural people it happened in Criminal minds two female ladies left due to pay issue than came back , hawaii five o two lead actors same issue , ncis it happens a lot __________________

Yes that's all true too Petra. I guess both systems have their positive and negatives to consider

Also, UK actors are paid less than American actors too since they're foreigners? Is that true?

Unless of course they cast someone like Benedict Cumberbatch on an American TV show, then they'd have to pay him more.

I'm always on the lookout for this now, British actors on American TV shows. Let's see how long they'll last.
