Missy's change of hearts kinda made sense, considering everything she had been through.

Plus she was in that vault, actively remaining in there because she wanted to change. She wanted to be better so she could be his friend again. In the end, that was all she wanted. Her friend back.

It was really sweet when she realized that being who the Doctor knew she could be was more important to her than staying true to her past self.

I love the end of the episode EMPRESS OF MARS where the Doctor see's that it's Missy who flew the TARDIS and she comes to him going, "Please, Doctor, tell. Are you alright?" That moment solidified it for me. Missy had changed.

Missy has never hidden the fact that she wanted the Doctor back, her friend. He makes her better, makes her want to be better. That's what I love about her. Even though she loved being the Queen of Evil, she was willing to let all that go to be the Doctor's friend again.

Missy would have stood beside the Doctor, and faced her end with him. But the Master had a point. They only way either of them could imagine dying, was being killed by each other. Twisted, I know..... but it works for them.

What I love about her is I wasn't sure if she was truly good or evil and I never had that thought with The Master.

that is true the master was evil he wanted power but i did think he wanted teh doctor to join him but when he said no he just turned on him .. where as missy still wishes to be friends with teh dr

This season, we got to see Missy after her constant exposure to the Doctor, talking to him, listening to what he had to say, and learning what it meant to be good. The Master never would have sat still long enough. He's the version that wanted instant gratification, unlimited power.

Missy, I think, is what the Master was always supposed to be. She wanted to change and she made the choice to be aligned with the Doctor, and do things as he would (or as close as she could manage)

I agree. Missy could have been a great force for good and her and the Doctor could have done a lot of good (both separately and together) for the universe. It's such a shame that Missy never got the opportunity to finish developing into who she was meant to be. I really feel like she would have become good in the end.

She would have, I totally agree. That's the big difference between Missy and the Master. She wanted change. And I will forever love her for that.

When did you guys think Missy had this realization with the Doctor? Technically in S8 when we meet her, Missy just regenerated from being The Master so her mind frame was still different that time.

i think it took her time to befriend the doctor i think the constant running into him changed her mind
