The Master definitely does the extreme no one else would..... and Missy had to pay for it because he couldn't stand the fact she wanted to stand with the Doctor.

It's like he couldn't stand what he had become in the future and he'd rather let himself die. It's a very twisted mind he had.

I think Missy was the right balance of madness and mayhem and brilliance. She was what the Master always meant to be..... and she was meant to stand with the Doctor.

In his mind, killing himself before Missy could return to the Doctor's side, was the best way for him to win.

Exactly. The Master was eventually going to be Missy and she's a wonderful character because of that.

Missy was definitely the more stable out of the both of them! LOL!

I think Missy started out just as mad as The Master but over time she changed. I am sure being locked in that vault for so long had a lot to do with it.

I don't think she was AS crazy as the Master. I know she created a whole army of Cybermen, but didn't kill any them. (Not talking about Osgood, cause I know she killed her) She was just stalking the Doctor and picking up the broken pieces. John Simms Master never did that. 10 just happened upon an amnesiac who turned out to be the Master.

She spent centuries in that vault with the one person in the universe she wanted to talk to; The Doctor. She had no outside distraction, no planets to burn.... Nothing. She was with him. More than anything, it was the Doctor that had her re-evaluating her life.

What instance do you think Missy changed her mind about The Doctor and decided to once and for all stand by him? I know when we first met Missy she was a lot like her previous self but she definitely changed along the way.

I think she CHOSE to stand with the Doctor when she and the Master were waiting out the Cybermen in the forest. The Doctor's speech had to be running through her head, cause she was listening. Most of the time he was speaking directly at the Master, but Missy was the one listening. When she stabbed the Master, it her showing him that she changed.

One Thing Remains

I think she changed because the Doctor choose to be her friend regardless of whether or not she was evil. He believed in her and knew that she could change if given the chance. I think she changed because the Doctor choose to save her life regardless of her past choices and allowed her to have a second chance.

Oh yeah, that wonderful speech by the Doctor. We can clearly see how The Master didn't give a damn but Missy was contemplating and really listened to it. Although she appeared non-plussed about it to the Doctor, deep inside that probably got her thinking. Gah, I bloody love that episode so much!!!

I think missy really cared for the doctor than the master . The master see more of a rivalry i think

The Master was everything she used to LOVE. She said it herself, she loved being him.... but all that paled in comparison to the Doctor telling her HE knew she changed.

Missy and the Doctor had a better chance of accepting each other. They had the best chance of finally laying the past to rest.
