Just watched Greeks Bearing Gifts, with and without commentary and then the special features on that disk. The one has a bit of GDL on it.

But GBG wasn't very Janto-y but there was still that pain from Lisa there. Might watch They Keep Killing Suzie tonight. Haven't decided.

I always believed that. Because that would have been the best way to make sure Jack doesn't find Lisa. As we know he lives in the Hub, and doesn't sleep much. He probably walks around, and he might have got suspicious as to why Ianto was staying after work so much (to take care of Lisa).

But I love the backstory, it puts a more positive spin on that story. More than I hoped it would even.
I loved Ianto's conflicted look as he was walking away. There was real attraction there from the start. It freaked him out, and he probably felt like he was betraying Lisa. He was ready to walk away before Jack offered him the job.
I think it all played a role for him. Being attracted to Jack = betraying Lisa. Him and Jack made a good team right away while catching Myfanwy and he did seem to respect him. The plan probably looked good on paper but he seemed to ignore the fact he would be betraying people he likes with what he's about to do until then. Plus, the rolling and laughing was sincere, he was in the moment, that wasn't faked. It was like he forgot about Lisa and all the problems for a second there. And knowing Ianto in season 1 that would have made him feel even more guilty as she was his first priority.

So while I do think Ianto probably wouldn't start sexual relationship right away, because he was loyal to Lisa. If the sexual part of the relationship started before Cyberwoman I do think it had to do with mutual attraction, and not just trying to keep Lisa hidden. And that is, well, fantastic.

I'm not sure though if Jack would get over betrayal that big that soon (Cyberwoman to TKKS)?
If it was just him being played and used, and if he thought Ianto flirted but didn't mean it - that alone would also explain his reaction.
But then there's that pissy look in Countrycide after Ianto answered the last kiss question. Hm.
