He is, yeah. I love how Big Finish took 7 to places that the BBC never would have allowed. BF from time to time, have really drawn out the calculating and manipulative side of 7. And I flipping love that.

Though I will say that 7 was never calculating and malipulative just for the sake of it. It was always a case of the ends justifying the means. Just like in The Curse Of Fenric, where in order to defeat Fenric, 7 has to break Ace's faith in him, so he says a lot of cruel things to her face, causing her to break down in tears. But afterwards, 7 is visibly upset at having to say things to Ace.

I need to watch more of 7. I haven't really seen a lot of his stuff. He sounds like a great Doctor.

If you are a fan of the modern show (2005-), then you will likely appreciate 7 more than any other classic era, as 7 seems to have inspired a lot of the modern show either directly or indirectly. Series 26 is basically the trial-run for the modern show. If you watch the show in order, removing the 1996 tv more, going from Survival (1989) to Rose (2005), I don't think there would be that much of a leap. Ok, in 1989, the budget was being strangled out of the the show by the BBC, but the storytelling as was strong, if not stonger, than it had ever been. Ace wasn't there to run around in low cut tops and high heels like some of the classic female companions were accused of, she was at the centre of those 4 stories, much more than any previous companion.
