It would be nice if HBO Max were to get the Classic Who catalog of stories as well as "nuWho", but I'm not sure the appeal of the classic stuff is broad enough for US audiences to make adding it a prioritized focus for WarnerMedia.

^ "Classic" Who is very different in structure and style from "nuWho" and therefore might not be seen as being quite as generally marketable and accessible to modern TV audiences, which is one reason why it took so many years for the property's popularity to extend beyond the UK.
Personally, I'd like to see HBO Max be able to add the "Classic" stuff so that I can finish the Colin Baker/Sixth Doctor era, but it's at least nice to have "nuWho" easily accessible and in one place. __________________

Because you might have started with the wrong incarnation of the Doctor if the OG stories didn't grab your fancy. If you can find them, I'd recommend the Fifth Doctor stories "Planet of Fire" and "The Caves of Androzani", and the Sixth Doctor stories "Vengeance on Varos", "The Mark of the Rani", and "Revelation of the Daleks". I've also heard good things about the Seventh Doctor era, although I've not yet watched any of those stories myself. __________________
