I don't really remember that storyline. I need to rewatch the classic series so bad.

I haven't seen any of the Classics (and slowly watching the First Doctor too) but Rani seems to be a favorite.

Not really. She was only in 2 stories. But being another time lord who knew the doctor from the academy, same as the master, did leave a lot unsaid.

While the master thrived on death destruction and world domination, the Rani was more of a scientist, who experimented on any species with no compassion for her test subjects. Which the Doctor did not approve of. She of course saw him as more of a nuisance than an adversary.

So the Rani is another recurring character on Classic Who? Did she die?

Never on screen. But if the time lords all survived the time war she could still be alive.

Ooooohhh, then we can definitely have her back on New Who. I'd like to see her now. What season did she first appear?

yes we did, but there really wasn't a whole lot of interaction. I would love to meet another Time Lord that we could get to know over the course of several episodes or seasons. The way we really got to know The Master/Missy.
