M atthew Robert Smith was born on 28 October 1982 in ,
Northampton, Northamptonshire, UK .He attended Northampton School
For Boys where he later became Head Boy.
As a teenager he was a talented footballer and considered turning
professional, he played for Northampton Town Under 11 and 12s,
Nottingham Forest Under 12,13,14s and Leicester City Under
15 and 16s but had to give it up, following a back injury,
and turned to acting instead.

When Matt was younger he was a member of the National Youth Theatre
staring in plays such as Murder In The Cathedral a review at the time
in fact points out that Matt was very good in it here.
He studied Drama and Creative Writing at the Norwich University
while still at University he starred in Fresh Kills.
Since then Matt has been in History Boys , On The Shore Of The Wide
World the trio of plays Burn / Citizenship / Chatroom.
He then went in to star in That Face, opposite Lindsay Duncan. His performance
gained an Evening Standard Best Newcomer nomination. From there he went on to
star with Christian Slater in Swimming with Sharks.
Matt TV roles have been in The Ruby in the Smoke, The Shadow in the North,
Party Animals, The Street, Moses Jones and in 2010 Matt will be
the 11th Doctor for Doctor Who

That is SUCH a tough question. I love so many of his episodes. For instance, I adore Vincent and the Doctor, but if I must choose, I would take The Big Bang over it. But there are so many other episodes in season 5 alone with moments I adore. I love season 5 more than any other season. Season 6, maybe The Impossible Astronaut, but I also treasure the goodbye at the end of The God Complex so much that I love that one too. I know a lot of people didn't like The Time of the Doctor that much, but I do! I also love The Power of Three and The Angels Take Manhatten.

Don't make me choose.

S7 - The Name of the Doctor

Choosing purely for Matt's memorable moments for me but some of these are not my favorite eps.
