Catherine Tate's character was one of many guest stars to interview to replace Steve Carrell's character last season. It was odd that they included Catherine Tate in that list, she's pretty much unknown in the US, and was up against a number of well-known comedians. I wouldn't have been surprised if she actually was chosen as the new manager, they left it undecided at the end of last season.

But I find Gervais's humour, in this and also his other show Extras, to be quite offensive, especially for me.

You might enjoy the US version more, Gervais wasn't really involved with it, and the humour is a bit different.

Do people outside of the U.S. have access to Hulu? I want to say they do because someone from the Terra Nova board watches the episode on Hulu, but I'm not sure. If you have access to the site and can watch shows, I believe episodes of The Office are on there

I know people in UK defintely don't get it as I have tried many times but keeps saying only available in certain countries...

Netflix has only recently become available in the UK, so maybe Hulu will eventually...

I'm pretty sure the US version of The Office is available on DVD in the UK, it's on amazon.co.uk.

I have to say that Catherine Tate's character on The Office is turning out to be more of a freak than she appeared last season. The episode this week where she took over the manager role simply by occupying Andy's office when he didn't show up for work was pretty bizarre.

And she's been in quite a few episodes this year, I wasn't expecting her to be in so many. I wouldn't be surprised if she lasts until the end of the season.
