Objecting to the Doctor having a romantic relationship with any human based solely on age isn't really a legitimate argument, IMO.

Changing subjects, I finished Jodie's most recent season and have decided to restart nuWho from the beginning while we wait for Series Thirteen.

What are other people's plans to get through the big gap between now and whenever Jodie and Co. return to our screens?

I never saw a romantic relationship between the Doctor and Rose. It's my least favorite storyline for Ten.

I finally watched some classical WHO:

First Doctor:
- An Unearthly Child
- The Cave of Skulls - The Forest of Fear - The Firemaker
- The Daleks
- The Edge of Destruction

Second Doctor:
- The Seeds of Death

Third Doctor:
- Carnival of Monsters

Fourth Doctor:
- The Talons of Weng-Chiang

Fifth Doctor:
- The Caves of Androzani

I must say I enjoy the first Doctor the least and like the third one with Jo. Most of the stories were interesting, some stuff didn't age well though. The ones with the cavemen seemed very silly. I enjoyed the "The Daleks", "Carnival of Monsters" and "Caves of Androzani".

it is hard to go back and sometimes watch the first doctor i did like the first episode but not the second

There are some newly animated episodes with the second doctor like "The Macra Terror". I'm going to try that. I like the second Doctor better than the first one, but I'm not used to monochrome.

What annoys me the most about the 60ies stuff is women screaming like crazy everytime they see a monster. Susan is the worst. (I'm not saying it's the actresses fault, it's how scifi was filmed at that time.)

I've just watched "The Three Doctors" from 1973. That was fun! It was lovely to see the time lords, that's so rare in New Who. From what I gather Three was stuck in UNIT hq because the Time Lords had grounded him. I wonder what he had done. I think I should look for some guide book to understand the overarching story.

At the end of The War Games, TWO interfered with the events to save lives. One of the rules of the Timelords, is not to interfere in the affairs of another race. Even though the Doctor had good reason for this, the Timelords didn't see it that way. At the end of The War Games, The Doctor (along with Jamie and Zoe), are brought to Gallifrey against their will. All memories of tavelling with the Doctor were removed from Jamie and Zoe, except for their first meeting, and sent back to their own times. Meanwhile, the Doctor is put and trial and found guilty. They make him pick his next regeneration (the Doctor isn't happy with any of them, so the Timelords pick for him*), remove the dematerialising circuit from the Tardis, and exile him to earth in the 20th century. His exile was finally lifted at the end of The Three Doctors.


*One of them, a young looking Doctor, even looks like Peter Davison!
