I thought after the forgettable series 6, 7 was a step in the right direction, and also the last good series. Purely imho.

I liked series 9, with all the two-parters. Heaven Sent and the emotional speech at the end of Zygon Inversion really cemented Capaldi as my favourite Doctor.

Oh don't get me wrong, Capaldi was a good Doctor, my second favourite of the modern Doctors (after Smith), but the writing got worse. Capaldi had the occasional good story (I really liked Flatline), but he lacked a strong series imho.

I agree season 6 had some good moments part one of season 7 so the Amy and Rory was good, sorry clara. Season 9 dragged on to much with the 2 parters but I loved time hiest, season 9 made it better again
