I do have to admit that I miss River. We haven't seen her since Series 7 with Matt Smith's doctor. I'm glad she will be hanging with Peter's doctor.

I think this has the potential to be easily the worst Christmas specials (and there has been some real stinkers- The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe springs to mind). River Song, Matt Lucas, Steven Moffat and a horrifically cheesy, cringeworthy title... not a good combination... Sooner Moffat goes the happier I'll be...

I think I saw an article saying this past series would have been his last...but he changed his mind and signed on for series ten. I hoping it will be his last as long as Capaldi stays.

I suspected this would become my favourite Christmas Special, and it was (especially the last half of it), seen it twice already and that ending really gets to me. So many great moments <3

I thought the episode was fun snd very silly.

I also enjoyed Twelve and River on screen together.

This is in the top 3 Xmas specials. River and 12 are made for each other. They fit. They are peanut butter and jelly.

Watching it again, so many good bits but a little said that this might be the last time we see River Song.

Love how long it took for River to realize who he was and the Doctor playered along, I was with the Doctor when he said seriously she doesn't know me.

and River has taken the TARDIS in the past.

Also I saw the fez!

OT - my iMac went down earlier in the week so I'm resorted to using an old iBook with 12" screen, can't wait to see it on the TV later tonight.

I was a bit lost because I have no idea who River Song is, but she and the Dr. had great chemistry

I liked the Towers of Song --- a possible metaphor/ homage dedicated to the memories of the Two Towers in New York

River Song is Rory and Amy's daughter. She is half time lady and half human. River is also the Doctor's wife along with Marilyn Monroe and Queen Elizabeth I. She was mostly on the Matt Smith era as the doctor. It's her first time on with Peter.

River Song's real name is Melody Pond.

Btw, I loved it. I hope we see more of River in the future before she goes to the Library.

I have seen this X-mas special like three times already and can't get over just how perfect, at least for me, it was!!! O_O OMG!!! I am in LOVE with River all over again!!

First.... the Doctor and those antlers and the sign on his door! hahaha!

That little fellow in the cap that came to fetch him reminded me of Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland! hahaha!

River as always makes quite and entrance! The Santa style cloak! O_O Oh wow! It looked amazing on her! And the broad grin that lit up the Doctors face when he realized it was her! Plus the way he said her name!!!

Alex Kingston, that grand sweet amazing wonderful lady, was absolutely and totally brilliant opposite Peter Capaldi! Their facial expressions, their reactions, and their smiles.... OMG! This was easily my TOP X-mas special for me and up until now my fave was VOYAGE OF THE DAMNED with Ten and Astrid. But this one is WAY better!

For the last part of this episode....... FEELS!!! MAJOR SHIPPER FEELS!!

When River realizes JUST who was with her the whole time I cheered and then I wanted to cry for how she felt, feeling love for him while he was so distant with her. And then the Doctor gently smiling at her, lightly saying, "Hello Sweetie" OMG!! I teared up! But those were chased away by giggles when River told him he had to do something about his roots!

The Doctor basically had the restaurant built for River, and he made sure to mention the balcony! Them together, listening to the towers sing, the sunset. It reminded me of a classic movie ending. It was perfect.

I will definitely be watching this special over and over and never tire of it!
