Ever since War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells was written, Mars has received more attention from sci-fi writers than any other planet.

From what I read from the synopsis for the Doctor Who episode about Mars I'm watching, it sounds like those Martians talked about in the episode where they found one on a submarine in the 80's, that those Martians may have been there first and are wanting their planet back after people invaded it by colonizing it. I did some thinking, and fictional planets like Gallifrey, Krypton, and Cybertron have probably had more science fiction stories written about them; but of the ones in our solar system, Mars has probably had the most. Of course I heard they found a planet that's about 600 trillion light years away; and if scientists want to call it Gallifrey, Krypton, Cybertron, or whatever, they can; but don't hold your breath waiting for some police box that's actually the TARDIS from that planet to show up.

It's funny that I mentioned how neat it would be if they did a crossover with Doctor Who and The Simpsons involving the angel statues because I just watched an episode of The Simpsons that had an angel statues, but it wasn't quantum locked so that it would move if someone blinked or turned their back.

They have a compilation of the DW references on The Simpsons. Not sure if this is everything though, I haven't watched The Simpsons for a long time.

Dr. Who and the Meaning of Life

Greetings all,

I'm looking for any references in the Dr. Who TV/Movie Series (old or new) to the meaning of life. If anyone remembers any references throughout the series, please let me know.

Thanks.

Here's a way to keep the topic from being locked. When is the next Saturday night episode of Doctor Who on? Is that guy in the episode The Doctor Falls the same one in the episode where he was everyone and kept wanting to eat?

I don't think so. I think she would have maybe became water and melted out of it? But isn't she technically dead with she became a water creature?

What kind of DW references to life are you referring to? Can you give us an example?

I asked a couple questions in the last post. I edited it; and if anyone who responds edits posts they'll never make it to 300 posts and get locked.

Jason Scott Irelan the topic will never be locked - a new thread will just be opened and the discussion will continue. Posters can still read through this thread at anytime and post their thoughts in the new thread. We don't lock discussions unless they they are inappropriate and against rules. This discussion is not in any danger of getting locked.

Does everyone know that the next Doctor on Doctor Who is gonna be a girl? I wonder if she'll like girls the way Bill does. I wonder if she'll meet River Song, Lindsay Lohan or whoever. I didn't make any hateful comments about lesbians. CommanderM did, and I don't know if he got any infractions for it. By the way, if he jumped off a bridge and didn't get wet or something, I'd probably do it too.
