It was a great sacrifice of love that THE doctor did and i love that.
But i hope Rose doesn't forget the real doctor and at the very end of doctor who we get to see Rose with the real doctor.

I was amazed at how much I didn't cry. I didn't even want to. I kept expecting something loads worse to happen- when the Doctor said "Dårlig Ulv Stranden", I thought he was basically going to chuck Rose off the TARDIS and abandon her. Which he did, in a way, but he didn't leave her alone. And then Donna... well, it was awful what happened to her, but I was expecting her to die. So, when she didn't, I was kind of happy that, at least, she was still alive.

It didn't make sense to me that, after two years of telling us what a horrible fate Doctor/Rose got, Ten then willingly encourages Rose to seal herself off in a parallel universe, so that they will never again have contact.

It just made no sense for the Doctor to not seize upon him and Rose getting to travel together again, and I'd always assumed that the travelling in the Tardis and opening up her mind to new possibilities, was also a big appeal for Rose (similiar to Donna I suppose). Instead she ends up settling down with romance with a half human Doctor...They really didn't explain satisfactorily why the Doctor and Rose couldn't travel together any more, it's not like the cloned Doctor should have been Rose's responsibility!

A part of me feels that this ending ruins the ending of Doomsday although it was sad you were left with no doubt that they were meant to be and were in love but this ending just confuses me and makes me want to cry

The more i think about it the more im ok with it. We knew Billie wasnt coming back full time, which meant either death or back in the alt reality so the doctor wouldnt see her again. At least with Doctor 2 she has a reason to be there, and while she will always think about the other Doctor, she has her own one now.

He could never grow old with her so he did sacrifice his love for her by giving her what she wanted, but just not with him. As hes not human, he probably thought that would make her happy, not really understanding they weren't completely the same.

I think we got the happiest ending we could. The only thing im annoyed about is the real doctor not giving a proper goodbye to Rose. Though, again i suspect he saw them kissing and thought she was fine with this.

confusing or what

Did Billie or David say anything about the Doctor and Rose's ending on the confidential?

I completely agree!

I think Doomsday was ultimately cheapened slightly by this ending, but not so much that I would watch it again without feeling sad within the context of the moment.

Uhh, they did but I've forgotten now. My poor brain. There was a really long shot of Rose/Doctor snogging so if you can watch it, do so!

It hasn't cheapened the end of Doomsday for me, at all. But I don't think anything could ever lessen the emotional impact of it for me.

There was about 10 minutes spent on the Doctor/Rose bit. I can't remember anything specific except for Billie comparing the Doctor/Rose ending to Beauty and the Beast and Julie Gardner saying "He loves this woman so much, he is willing to give her the life he can't give her". Or something like that.

Nah, Doomsday hasn't been cheapened for me, it just breaks my heart so much, I just sort of get absorbed into the story with Doctor Who, when I watch it I forget about anything that came after, it's the strength of the acting and writing for me.

Exactly. For me, the emotion in that episode isn't affected at all by what happens in future episodes.

Stuff that happens in future episodes always colours my vision of prior ones I can't watch Buffy without thinking about how horrid she turns out...

I just think the longevity of 'forever' has been removed from Doomsday. But yes it's still sad, gut-wrenching and devastating within the moment, but not as much as it was.
