The whole episode was brilliant!!!
I love how River was being the DUMBEST SMART PERSON in that episode!! she just wasn't getting all the hints the Doctor was throwing at her! hahah! For him, he was putting in an EFFORT to try and get River to clue in as to who he was! hahaha! __________________

It totally is fair! River tried to get him to clue into as to who she was in SILENCE IN THE LIBRARY, and he had to do the same. If anything it made him feel what she felt back then.
