I like it. I was just thinking, in a way I like this particular trip into the matrix better than the Fourth Doctor's visit in The Deadly Assassin. And it's not often that can say I like something from CBaker's era better than TBaker's

I watched it recently, and they spend at least one whole episode in the matrix. But the scenario that plays out is too normal, if you're in the matrix I expect it should be more surreal, dreamlike, it shouldn't follow normal real life rules.

I watched it recently too and it was much better than I remembered it to be... I thought it was Top 20 of the Tom Baker era, and as I watched it, it moved up and up and ended up at number 6 on my list for that article (did you read it btw?)

I think I started, but got distracted and forgot to go back to it.

If I were to make a list, I don't think that story would be so high up.

I'm still not fond of the Matrix bit, but it was the rest of it that was really impressive...

Tom Baker is by far my favorite classic Doctor, but it isn't really about individual stories being good. It is more about the character being good, there not being too many BAD stories, and there being so many good scenes where the Doctor interacts with a wide variety of characters and companions. tl;dr: would you like a JellyBaby?

Edit When do we start part 2?

I agree, the Fourth Doctor era is great just for watching the Fourth Doctor, he makes a lot of mediocre or even poor stories better because he's fun to watch.

Oops, I already started part 2 at about :15.

(Incase anyone wants to take a read )

Mel is very annoying, and Colin is very good in these two episodes...

Terrible last words!

Incidentally, I think this may be worth a listen:
XII. Trial of the Valeyard - Doctor Who - Bonus Releases - Big Finish

Trial of the Valeyard is out later this year, I think I get it as part of my subscription.
