yer i think it is up the the character nd how it was portrayed i dont think chris was a bad doctor i felt the actor distaste for being him makes me like him less , i mean if he attended the cons was in the anniversary i would of loved it

I agree with Petra. It's the combination of how he portrayed the doctor and his disdain for the DW franchise since he has left. But I think his disdain for the show and refusal to interact with fans or participate in the franchise has had the most effect on people's perception of him as the Doctor.

I think that if he had continued doing the con circuit and interacting with fans that he would be much more liked. Even though people may not have cared for his portrayal of the Doctor the DW fandom would have embraced him and loved him anyway.

well tbh the DW fandom is a pretty good one i dont hear a lot of negative things from them the only time i really heard it was from thr classic whovians with season 8 which was one of the worst seasons and when jodie was annoyed but usually the fandoms really good compared to other shows we have nice fans .. so i think it is chris and the way he jsut didnt enjoy it at all .. and i think fans enjoyed his doctor i mean if he was in the 50th anniversary fans woujld of been happy but he just wants nothing to do with it and it is really sad

I actually didn't know his disdain for DW. Why did he sign up to be the Doctor in the first place? Just to get a gig? I didn't like his portrayal so much and that's why I didn't really like Nine.

I agree. If he showed up at cons or had a cameo at the 50th Anniversary, he probably would've gained more fans.

he did the doctor to show that he could do a range of acting and i think he tried but it was a different time than different hours different crew i think he just didnt enjoy it
