But that's the point, you just said Lauren is not Sarah and just like Lorelai she has her own wardrobe, yes Lauren might use it from time to time but would you respect Sarah (or Lauren) less if she dressed on a budget, especially since they made a point of it several times when she borrowed her sisters clothes.

It's like Friends all over again and the apartment in NYC.

It just bugs me, I'm all for Lauren looking pretty in nice clothes but why can't that be on a budget like most of us?

And what better place to discus the topic but here in this thread?

I didn't say Lauren is not Sarah. I said Sarah is not a REAL PERSON. As in FICTIONAL. I so don't care which clothes she wears. At all. If she wants to fix her car in a DvF shirt, okay. I found that funny. And it's not like the designers or prizes are mentioned on the show. Without Valentine and some other persons here on the board you wouldn't even know any of those clothes were that expensive. And you seem to be the only have having "a problem" with that so don't expect that we'll all agree about that or are even willing to discuss it over and over again.

Most people who watch this show are not fashion consious and don't realize
how expensive these clothes are... I was one of them until I came here. Let
it go... look beyond the clothes...how many people really know the brands
that are being worn. I bet everyone on the show including Croby is wearing
expensive clothes.

I completely agree with all of the above and I ask you Craig to please let it go. Clothes on shows are always way too expensive for the characters. It's called tv.

I agree most wouldn't have a clue about how much the clothes and jewelery that some characters wear cost if it was not for threads like this and sites like Valentine's, which I appreciate greatly. Yes it's all part of the wonder which is TV land/Hollywood, I just wish they would be more realistic in their choices sometimes and that is the last I'll talk about it here.

But let me close by asking, day to day when not going to events I bet Lauren doesn't wear $200 shirts to go to the shops or walk Hannah.

I was watching Castle last night and Susan Sullivan (Castle's mom) wore the same DvF dress that Lauren wore in 2.08: If This Boat is a Rockin, when she was in the limo with Billy/Gordon and stayed out all night. Have to say it looked pretty darn good on her, too.

Reminds me of a top or dress that Lauren wore on Gilmore Girls once, Portia de Rossi wore the same on Arrested Development around the same time.

Didn't Julia Louis-Dreyfus once wear the same dress as Lauren on a talk show, If I remember right they both went on the VIEW wearing the same thing at different times.

The one that Julia Louis-Dreyfes wore was the black sleeveless dress with the white stripe down the sides. I am pretty sure, though, that they were on different talkshows.

The green and white top that Lauren wore with the white pants when she and Jeff Daniels were on the view was also worn by the british gal that was on the last Jenna Elfman show (she was also on Ugly Betty). I am pretty sure that someone else wore it as well. There have been several Lauren outfits that have been worn by other people since GG days.

Ha it went the other way around once that I know of where Lauren/Lorelai wore a top that Jennifer Aniston as Rachel wore. It was the black short sleeve sweater that had the white cuffs at elbows and white collar. Lorelai wore it to the Gilmore's house when she and Sookie went for the tasting for Richard and Jason's party then stopped by Luke's and Kirk was there practicing for his date with Lulu.
